Conquistador
The goal of this logo was to modernize the current brand and honor the long history of the club. The current club logo was designed in 1969 during San Diego’s bicentennial celebration, in which the city utilized a conquistador as part of the branding for events. Using this as inspiration, we updated the icon by giving the conquistador a more stylized look and feel. The color scheme is a good mix of warm and cool colors that will help the club stand out and allow for fun merchandise opportunities. The icon paired with a strong and sporty typeface makes for a very memorable brand that can continue to grow with the club.
California
The goal of this logo was to create something timeless and impactful. The icon features the state of California and Hermes’ Wings, which have long been a symbol of speed and power. The shape is made from a continuous blue line, and was inspired by the phrase, “break the tape”. The tape is only broken at the finish line in San Diego. Over the city is a heart or star to represent the running community. Paired with a very clean and modern color scheme, this logo is something that can stand the test of time and last another 60 years.
Balboa Park
This isn’t just any track club, this is the SAN DIEGO Track Club! The goal of this logo was to highlight the unique beauty of our amazing city. Balboa Park is not only a very important location to the club, but it’s also one of the most iconic places in Southern California. This logo celebrates our city by featuring the iconic California Tower, and highlights the sense of community felt by the club’s members by depicting a diverse group of runners. The badge icon style of this logo makes it very versatile and easy to identify from a distance.
